Peering into the work spaces of some of the world’s most iconic figures is one of my secret pleasures. Recently I stumbled across some photos that were shot of Coco Chanel‘s apartment, in what looks like her study, or a parlour to invite guests for tea or suitors for bourbon. The charming mid century vibe is elegant, expensive and extravagant. The life sized wooden elk, fine Asian tapestries and sculptures, crystal chandelier and lines of leather bound books are a whirlwind of inspiration coming from various eras and regions of the world. This eclectic room may be far from her typical design aesthetic, but nonetheless inspiring.
