With the passing of the cold winter weather and the arrival of Spring comes… THE SUN!
Don’t wait any longer to start stocking up on skin and hair products for the pending change in seasons, because for some of us, Spring really just means the beginning of Summer. Even if the temperatures are still much lower than the sunny days of summer, direct exposure is still a threat to the longevity of my skin & hair, and I am not trying to burn out [no pun intended] before bikini season even starts.
That being said, I thought it would be wise to share some of my favorite summer products to encourage you to start protecting yourself now. Some of these are more practical than others, but no matter which way you look at it, these are definitely the essentials you will need to get in the swing of Summer 🙂
COOLA Sun Care’s liplux spf30 Original Formula: This is my addiction as of late. Thanks to a lovely set of COOLA Sun Care products from my dear friend Katie, I have been balming my boca with this stuff for months. I find it exceptionally great when I’m sweating outside, it doesn’t get all gross and goopey like other lip products.
Bath & Body Works Aruba Coconut Body Lotion: This has been my beauty secret for almost a year now, and I cannot tell you enough how many compliments I get on this. I literally have not had to buy perfume since I started using this insanely delicious smelling lotion, even if I just use it after my morning shower. It smells like a tropical vacation, so it instantly brightens my mood and confidence.
Neutrogena Clear Face Sunscreen Lotion: I am very particular when it comes to putting things on my face, especially sunscreen. Yes, it is one of the most important parts of my beauty routine, however if you don’t do your research, you could end up looking like a bright white oil slick in no time. This face sunscreen is the best I have used so far, and doesn’t leave a pasty white residue in the hard to reach places either.
Philip Kingsley Swim Cap: For my fellow swimmers, this stuff is a huge help when it comes to protecting your tresses during your aquatic workout. Whether you’re in the pool or the ocean, using this water resistant cream will protect against dryness and damage caused by chlorine and salt. It also helps prevent discolouration and colour fade by filtering out the harmful rays of the sun.
Avon Footworks Marine Sea Salt Foot Scrub: Many people tend to neglect their feet as a part of their beauty routine in the Summer. Sure, us ladies tend to get more pedicures, but walking barefoot – especially in the sand – can beat up those feet. Scrub your soles at least once a week with this stuff, which is grittier than a sugar-based alternative.
