Much like the rest of 2013, Christmas has flown by. Although I partook in most of the same family and community decisions, this year seemed to fly by exceptionally fast.
The days leading up to the holiday, I worked nine straight days. Tis the season for retail, so I trudged my way through the week battling a sinus infection, pondering surgery, and planning for my trip that I am currently en route to. With all my thoughts whizzing around, I managed to wake up today, dumbfounded to see that it was already the 26th.
With the New Year right around the corner, I am reminding myself to slow down every once in a while and really enjoy my surroundings. I live in a beautiful place, and have the opportunity to explore new and incredible places with great people, there isn’t much to complain about in this crazy life of mine. Stopping to smell the roses every once in a while keeps us grounded, and living with gratitude.
With that being said, I will be taking the week off while I am traveling back east so that I can really enjoy the winter season properly. I will be curled up by the fire with a hot cocoa in hand and my fluffy new ugg boots on, and staying unplugged 🙂 Recharging before the New Year is exactly what I need right now.
I hope you all enjoy the rest of whatever holiday break you have, and spend some time reflecting on the past year to help plant the seeds for your next one!
